Why Work at FA
Though committed to offering competitive salaries and a broad range of benefits (see the list below), there are a number of additional advantages to a career in independent school education. At Falmouth Academy, teachers have the curricular freedom, unburdened by state-mandated standards, textbooks, or testing, to be innovative and creative. Most teach no more than four sections and carry student loads of fifty or fewer. Students are engaged and motivated and families are supportive and invested. Teachers enjoy a supportive mentorship program, participate in a robust growth, feedback, and evaluation system, have access to well-developed partnerships in active artistic and scientific communities and benefit from generous professional development and continuing education resources.
Falmouth, Cape Cod, and Beyond
Located on the southwest corner of Cape Cod, Falmouth Academy is situated on a beautiful 34-acre campus adjacent to the pristine Beebe Woods conservation area and close to the vibrant international scientific community of Woods Hole, which also serves as the main ferry port for Martha’s Vineyard. Our school is in the heart of the town of Falmouth, a picturesque year-round town with an active downtown and a full array of services and recreational opportunities. We are 70 miles from Boston and 75 miles from Providence, the two largest cities in New England.
"You learn more here than what is in textbooks—things like humanity, benevolence, honesty, good humor—things that make you an effective and productive social being." - Jay Allison, Alumni Parent
