Individual Tutoring
Individualized tutoring is offered on a limited basis.
Academic support is provided through individualized tutoring on a limited basis for both students with documented* learning disabilities and those performing below teachers' expectations. Additionally, when space is available, tutoring is offered to students who believe they could benefit from individualized assistance on a short-term basis.
The learning support teacher generally meets with a student once a week during the student's study hall period. Tutoring sessions typically provide both reinforcement of content and an opportunity for a student to discover and practice strategies to compensate for or improve areas of weakness and to recognize her/his own learning style and strengths.
The learning support teacher communicates regularly with the student's teachers to ensure effective reinforcement of the skills and concepts learned in the classroom.
