Our students live and function in a world full of problems and opportunities; we expect them to put the skills they learn at FA into leading thoughtful lives which will benefit the communities in which they live. We see service to the community as an underlying principle of citizenship which we encourage all of the members of our community to pursue. Our students are used to seeing their school participate in the local community by hosting events ranging from sports tournaments to concerts to the Cape Cod Theatre Project. Our goal is to help students see beyond the enormously personal concerns of their teen years to a broader sense of leadership and the obligation to make their community a better place to live.
Every year, our students and teachers find numerous ways to accomplish that goal.
Students also support their own school through fundraisers to benefit the financial aid fund and through gifts to the FA Annual Fund. They compost, recycle, tutor, landscape, and volunteer as guides and hosts for visitors to FA.
