It’s “Old World vs. New World” as Falmouth Academy’s Parents’ Association hosts its 2010 Wine Tasting Benefit in the FA gym, April 10, 4-6:30 p.m. Join us as we sample eight international wines—four from the Old World and four from the New—each served with a bite of artisan cheese or a luscious chocolate treat. Tickets are on sale now; get yours before we sell out again!
Wine afficionado Noah Totten of John’s Liquors will lead guests through tastes of fours pairs of international wines, including Fitz-Ritter Riesling, a great example of the Germanic style Riesling from one of the oldest vineyards in the Pfaltz region, Dominique Cornin Macon-Chantre; Liberty School Chardonnay from California; France’s Le Mazet Rouge; Hahn Estates Meritage; and others. Each of the wines tasted will be available for ordering. Participants will taste local gourmet foods, such as Great Hill Blue Cheese. All of the wines tasted will be available for ordering.
A tradition at FA’s large events, the Class Baskets—donated and assembled by FA parents—return to the wine tasting as silent auction items. The baskets will contain a fun-filled assortment of foods, wines, music, gift certificates, “green gifts,” concert tickets and much more. In addition, we will auction a bottle of 1996 Dom Perignon.
