The trustees of Falmouth Academy are committed to providing financial aid to qualified students who demonstrate an economic need. Currently, approximately 40 percent of Falmouth Academy students receive need-based financial aid. The range of awards is wide and is based on family need as well as availability of funds.
Financial aid takes the form of an award, 90 percent of which is an outright grant, while the remaining 10 percent (up to a maximum of $500) is a loan.
We use the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) developed by the School and Student Service for Financial Aid to evaluate requests for financial aid. Families applying for financial aid should pay close attention to the specific deadlines for applying for aid, which are:
Submit the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) This is required from all families, including both custodial and non-custodial parents. The PFS must be mailed to SSS or submitted online by January 31. To complete the PFS online, go to http://sss.nais.org.
Mail the Business/Farm Statement to Falmouth Academy. This form is required from all families who own a business or farm; one form for each business. Request the Business/Farm Statement when you request the financial aid application.
Mail a signed copy of 2009 Form 1040 including copies of W-2’s and all attachments to Falmouth Academy. This is required from all families, including both custodial and non-custodial parents.
Please be advised that the Financial Aid Committee will not review completed applications for the coming school year until the tuition and fees for the current school year are paid in full.
NOTE: Financial aid review begins February 15th for completed applications of returning students and students applying for admission. Review continues thereafter if financial aid funds are still available. Missing the February 15th financial aid application deadline significantly reduces the likelihood of receiving financial aid. Financial aid decision letters are mailed on March 10th.
