In fall 2006, Falmouth Academy opened its new, 3,000-square-foot Bruce and Patrice Buxton Library, named for Headmaster Emeritus Bruce Buxton and his wife, Librarian Patrice Buxton. The new space brings much-needed space, collections, equipment for online-research and room for quiet conversations. It allows 40 to 50 teachers and students to research, confer, study, read, and plan comfortably. It is welcoming, handsomely furnished with tables and bookcases handmade by Frank Bowles, Ph.D., a friend of the school. The library was honored in 2007 by the American Library Association as one of the best designed libraries in the nation.
