Falmouth Academy Sports Camp      
9:00-3:00 p.m., ages 6 to 12, $325 - or - 
12:30-3:00 p.m., ages 6-12, roll into Sports from Special for All Day $458

 

Play a variety of sports including basketball, soccer, and tennis and learn the fundamentals through play and good sportsmanship. The class is designed to help build confidence and prepare players for the next level. Campers will be put into groups depending on their age.

Building Unconventional Musical Instruments with Guy Knapp
9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., ages 7-12, $295

Almost anything can be a musical instrument if used creatively. With their unique handmade instruments, students will arrange simple songs and make music together. Think unusual, functional, beautiful instruments! No musical experience required. 

Discover the Cape Cod Shoreline (session F) with Gil Newton
9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., ages 7-12, $295

This class will give students the opportunity to survey the marine plants and animals along the Cape shoreline, their ecology, and diverse habitats. The students will explore local beaches, salt marshes, sand dunes, tide pools, and rocky areas on several field trips to local ecosystems. Students will use field equipment to collect and study marine mollusks, crabs, fish, seaweeds, and other common species. This is a hands-on class and is designed to enhance a student's understanding of the marine environment.

Art Adventure with Nora Gardner
9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., ages 7-12, $295

This class will happen on location as students visit local haunts for inspiration with portable painting and drawing equipment. Students will learn basic drawing and watercolor techniques and create a portfolio of work in their sketchbooks. Every day will include a walk to our chosen place to paint with plenty of time outdoors. 

Explore Cape Cod! with Abagail Bumpus
9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., ages 10-15, $500

An all-day adventure exploring the Cape. From Martha’s Vineyard to Sandwich to Dennis to Woods Hole to Squeteague Harbor, students will spend every day exploring different parts of Cape Cod. Adventures include kayaking, hiking, beaching, visiting museums and historic places, and searching for the best ice cream on the Cape.

Animation (session F) Video in the Studio with Allen Russell
12:30-3:00 p.m., ages 7-12, $250

At FCTV students will be guided in making short animated videos from pre-production through editing. Students learn about stop-motion animation and create and animate their own story and characters with voices and effects.

Building the Wacky and Ingenious Rube Goldberg Machine with Guy Knapp
12:30-3:00 p.m., ages 7-12, $250

Build a fantastic creation of your own whimsy, and explore different media in which to make your absurdly complicated machine perform a simple task! Rubber bands, hot glue, and unbounded creativity are sure to feature prominently.

FA Summer Ukulele Music Program with Caroline Buccino
12:30-3:00 p.m., ages 7-14, $250

Students in Falmouth Academy’s Ukulele Summer Program will learn the basic rudiments to playing ukulele. In this one-week course, students will learn basic strumming techniques, reading music, chord placement and practice with rhythmic exercises. By the end, they will be able to play with correct hand positioning a variety of popular songs. It won’t be long before the sounds of Hawaii surround you!
