Senior College Night for students and parents

College Work Day to practice interview skills and work on Common Application

College Financial Aid Night for parents

Ask your teachers for references, if you have not already

ACT test date 

Register for October SAT, SAT Subject Tests, or ACT if needed

Complete College Essay with college advisors

Begin the Common App (

Watch the posted list of visiting college representatives and plan to attend certain presentations 

Attend local college fairs (information will be on the Naviance homepage and College Counseling Bulletin Board)


SAT or ACT test dates

Continue to meet with college advisors and explore Early Action (EA) or Early Decision (ED) options

Register for November or December SAT, SAT Subject Tests, or ACT - if needed

FAFSA and CSS Profile are available online


Complete EA or ED applications

Check financial aid deadlines for EA and ED schools

CSS Profile and FAFSA may be due as early as November 1 for ED applications

SAT test date

Send SAT or ACT scores to EA and ED colleges via the College Board or ACT websites


Receive ED and EA decisions and update all information on Naviance

File EDII and January 1 applications BEFORE holiday break

SAT or ACT test dates


File January 1 and January 15 deadline applications

First trimester grades sent to colleges

Begin to investigate local scholarship opportunities


Receive EDII and rolling admissions decisions  

Confer with college advisors


Receive decisions from all colleges

Re-visit colleges at which you have been accepted  

Attend programs for accepted students


Pay deposit to confirm enrollment

Notify all colleges of your enrollment intentions by May 1

Confirm enrollment intentions with the college counselors and on Naviance


Final transcripts and documentation sent to colleges
