The Counseling Office is a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere where students can find support with emotional and social challenges. School Counselor Carol DiFalco addresses issues that are beyond the scope of the classroom teacher or advisor. Students are welcome to schedule a time to talk or stop by on a drop-in basis. Office hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8 am- 3 pm.
Ms. DiFalco also serves as the Faculty Advisor to the Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA), Human Rights Academy Team, and Wellness for Life.
Wellness for Life is a trimester long course held for different grades throughout the year. Ms. DiFalco will discuss health and wellness issues covering emotional health, physical health, healthy relationships, and stress management. The 10th grade meets with Ms. DiFalco in the fall. The seniors meet with her in the winter. The 8th grade will meet with Ms. DiFalco in the spring.
Additional services offered through the Counseling Office:
- Referrals and resources are available for parents and families.
- Monthly parent discussions will be held in the FA Kitchen. See the side bar for topic information and the calendar for dates and times.
- Meditation time is offered on Tuesdays during lunch on a drop-in basis.
- Collaboration, at the parents request, with outside mental health providers.
