Falmouth Academy and the Woods Hole Public Library will present the National Theatre of London’s Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead on Friday, February 16th at 7 PM in the Simon Center for the Performing Arts at Falmouth Academy, 7 Highfield Drive, Falmouth.
Tony Award-nominated Director, David Leveaux, brings Tom Stoppard’s 1966 tragicomedy to the stage with performances by Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter, Swiss Army Man), Joshua McGuire (Lovesick, The Hour), and David Haig (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Florence Foster Jenkins).
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead tells the story of two seemingly minor characters from Hamlet. The story takes place in both Shakespeare’s most recognizable scenes and just outside the drama. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern’s ignorance of the tragic story unfolding around them only adds to the show’s comedic value.
The Telegraph praises “The pacing is fleet, the timing slick, and memorable moments are in sufficiently plentiful supply.” The star-studded cast of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead keep the show alive fifty years after its creation with their chemistry and charisma.
National Theatre Live is the National Theatre’s groundbreaking project to broadcast the best of British theatre from the London stage to cinemas across the UK and around the world. The broadcast at Falmouth Academy is a recording of the National Theatre show, not a live simulcast.
Tickets are $15 and may be purchased at the door (cash or check only). Doors open 30 minutes prior to show time.
The next National Theatre Live screening at Falmouth Academy is Yerma with Billie Piper on Friday, March 9th.
