As we head toward final exams, here’s a quick update of what to expect during exam week.
(NB: Students in grade 7 and 8 will have a slightly different schedule. If you are a parent/guardian of a 7th- or 8th-grade student, you will already have received information about that schedule from our Middle School Coordinator Mrs. Hough–see below)
Upper School Exam Days
During the week of finals, May 29-June 5, students will sit for one two-hour long exam per day, starting at 9:30 AM.
Students with accommodations will be allowed to sit for three hours.
Bus pick-up in the morning will be one hour later than usual; the pickup from school is scheduled for noon. Students from the Vineyard will be able to catch the boat at noon. Students with accommodations need to arrange alternative transportation for returning home. Students may leave school after the exams. We encourage students to use the afternoons for reviewing the material of the next day’s exam.

Teachers will review for exams in classes before finals. Most students will have received a study guide by now. If your student is still not clear about the expectations for his/her final exam, urge him/her to talk to his/her teacher. Students need a clear idea of which areas might dictate further review at home on the afternoon before the exam.
Final exam grades will be listed on the third trimester report card that you will receive in the mail during the week after Recognition Day.
Students can see their graded final exams on the last official day of school which is Recognition Day, Saturday, June 8.
Middle School Exam Information
Seventh graders will sit for only two exams and teachers will hold study sessions to model how best to prepare (click for details). Eighth Grade students will sit for four exams but not science since they completed a term project in class in lieu of an exam.
The Eighth Grade exam schedule will look similar to the exam schedule for the Upper School, with the exception that the Math exam will be on Monday, June 3, and Eighth Graders will complete their exams one day early (click for details).
NOTE: Previously ordered lunches from Stomping Grounds will be delivered Wednesday, 5/29 and Thursday, 5/30.
No buses on Wednesday, June 5 for exam make-ups.
